The UAE used-car market is full of excellent value — and accident-repaired, flood-damaged and odometer-adjusted traps. A professional pre-purchase inspection (PPI) is the cheapest insurance you will ever buy.
A proper PPI (AED 200–500, 60–90 minutes) covers: full computer diagnostic scan, paint-depth readings on every panel (detecting resprays), chassis and flood damage checks, compression/leak-down on older engines, suspension and brake wear, and a road test. Insist on a written report with photos.
Deal-killing red flags: chassis rail welding or crumple-zone repairs, airbag warning lights or missing airbags, water lines and corrosion under carpets, mismatched paint depth on structural panels, and any seller who resists an independent inspection.
